There is hereby established a Safety Committee of the Borough of Maywood.
The Safety Committee of the Borough of Maywood shall consist of the
persons holding the following positions:
A. The Insurance Commissioner.

B. The Borough Clerk. (In the event that the borough shall
appoint a Borough Administrator, the Borough Administrator may serve in lieu
of or with the Borough Clerk, as may be directed by the Mayor and Council.)

D. The Superintendent of the Department of Public Works.
E. The Chief of the Maywood Fire Prevention Bureau or a
member of the Fire Department designated by the Chief of the Maywood Fire
Department

F. The Captain of the First Aid and Emergency Squad or a
member of the First Aid and Emergency Squad designated by the Captain.
G. A member of the governing body to be appointed by the
Mayor and Council for a term of one year expiring on December 31 of the year
of appointment.
H. Such number of additional persons as may from time to
time be appointed by the governing body to serve at the pleasure of the Mayor
and Council.
Members of the Safety Committee of the Borough of Maywood shall serve
without compensation.

The Safety Committee of the Borough of Maywood shall meet quarterly
during the calendar year, but may meet more frequently as deemed necessary
by the Chairperson of the Committee, and the Committee shall have the following
duties and responsibilities:
A. To work with department heads to develop a comprehensive
safety and loss-control program.
B. To review all accident reports and monitor accident trends
and frequencies.
C. To perform and coordinate annual safety inspections and
identify locations requiring more frequent inspections.
D. To conduct safety education programs.
E. To develop for use within the borough standard accident
report forms to be used by all departments, unless such department is otherwise
required by law to utilize other approved forms of accident reporting.
F. To report its findings and recommendations, in writing,
at least once each year to the Mayor and Council.
G. To perform such other duties that may be requested by
the Mayor and Council.
