By its enactment of the Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act, the federal government requires alcohol and drug testing of all personnel who drive commercial motor vehicles requiring a commercial driver's license (CDL). In order to conform to these regulations and to ensure that all employees of the Town of Farmington who are so classified are properly tested, the Town Board is hereby enacting the Town's policy and procedures with regard to alcohol and drug testing.
The Town Board hereby creates the "Town of Farmington Alcohol and Drug Testing Policy," the text of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A[1] and incorporated herein. The Town Board further directs the Supervisor and/or other designated Town official to take any and all necessary measures in implementing the policy.

The Town Board understands that the policy may, from time to time, be changed as required by federal or state law, rule or regulation. If such changes are necessary, the changes shall be authorized by resolution of the Town Board.
The policy referenced herein shall remain on file with the Town Clerk at all times and be available for public inspection.
