Leave of absence with pay will be granted only after written request therefor has been made by the employee and only after formal approval by motion duly made by the Common Council of the City of Port Jervis.
In no event shall leave of absence with pay exceed six months, and in no event shall the amount of pay that the employee receives for a leave of absence with pay exceed 50% of his salary. In the event of an hourly employee, it shall not exceed 50% of the employee's base salary and shall not include any additional pay or benefits, including but not limited to overtime, holidays, standby time, etc.
