This chapter shall be known as the "Games of Chance Licensing Law."
The Common Council hereby declares that the raising of funds for promotion of bona fide charitable, educational, scientific, health, religious and patriotic causes and undertakings, where the beneficiaries are undetermined, is in the public interest.
All terms, including "authorized organizations" and "games of chance," shall be interpreted and defined in conformity with the meanings as set forth in Article 9-A, § 186 of the General Municipal Law, which by reference is made a part hereof.
It shall be lawful for any authorized organization, upon obtaining a license therefor, to conduct games of chance within the territorial limits of the City of Port Jervis, subject to the provisions of this chapter, the provisions of Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law and the provisions set forth by the New York State Racing and Wagering Board.
The conduct of games of chance under this chapter is hereby permitted between the hours of 12:00 noon and 12:00 midnight on Sundays pursuant to § 195 of the General Municipal Law.
