A. 
Water systems shall be designed by a professional engineer registered in this state to provide adequate flow capacity for future fire protection, including connection to other water systems existent or anticipated in adjacent areas.
B. 
Developed water resources shall be included into the system sufficient for domestic and/or commercial demands, exclusive of fire protection requirements, except when specifically directed as a condition of approval by the town.
C. 
All mains shall be at least six inches in diameter.
D. 
Pipe shall be installed in accordance with the standards contained herein for either asbestos-cement water pipe or cast-iron water mains.
E. 
Hydrants shall be of that specific type and manufacture directed by the engineer to the Planning Board, with the intention of providing uniformity for installations to be used by the Somers Fire Department.
