The duties and responsibilities of the Township Physician shall be as follows:
A. 
He shall be a licensed physician and a resident of and general practitioner in the Township, maintaining an office and telephone with constant attendance.
B. 
He shall be available for call from the Police Department and shall respond at all times, except as provided in Subsection C, to attend cases of injury or illness connected with accidents, emergencies or arrests, when, in the judgment of the Police Department, medical service or observation is required.
C. 
If required to be away from immediate call and response for a period of more than 24 hours, he shall arrange for an equally qualified physician to substitute for him and shall give notice to the Chief of Police and to the Township Clerk. If his absence from immediate call is to be less than 24 hours, he shall arrange that his office may contact him or the prearranged substitute.
D. 
He shall, when required and without fee, make physical examinations and reports on applicants for appointment to Township positions and render first aid and report on any Township employee injured in the course of such employment.
E. 
He shall keep a record of all official acts performed by him under this section and shall make an annual report thereof at the end of each calendar year.
The Township Physician shall receive such salary as may be provided by the Township Committee by ordinance.
