Pursuant to § C202 of the Town Charter, there shall be three (3) alternate members of the Planning and Zoning Commission who shall be elected to serve for terms of two (2) years each. The alternate members shall serve, in all respects, pursuant to the provisions of Sections 8-1b, 8-19a and 22a-42 of the Connecticut General Statutes. The Planning and Zoning Commission shall have all the powers and duties granted by Title 8 of the Connecticut General Statutes and, in addition, shall serve as the Inland Wetlands Agency of the Town of Mansfield.
Any member of the Commission who is absent from three (3) consecutive regular meetings and any intervening duly called special meetings shall be considered to have resigned from the Commission, and the vacancy shall be filled as provided by § C206 of the Town Charter, except that the Commission may vote to waive the requirements of this section in each case where illness or other extenuating circumstances make it impossible to meet the attendance requirements of this section.
