Penalties for offenses. 

The tearing down or removal of any building, the dimensions of which are greater than 10 feet by 15 feet and 10 feet in height, located at a distance closer than 25 feet to any sidewalk, street, highway or public thoroughfare in the Village of Monticello, is hereby prohibited unless a permit therefor shall first be obtained from the Village Manager authorizing such activities.

No such permit shall be issued unless adequate facilities for the protection of the public are constructed as determined by the Code Enforcement Official, including the obtaining of liability coverage in limits of $1,000,000 indemnifying the village against any resulting claims.

The fee for such permit shall be as established from time to time by resolution of the Board of Trustees.

Any person committing an offense against any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be guilty of a violation, punishable as provided in Article III, General Penalty, of Chapter 1 of the Code of the Village of Monticello.
