The office of Secretary-Treasurer is hereby created by the Borough of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
The Borough Council shall elect, by majority vote of all its members, one person to fill the office of Secretary-Treasurer. In case of a vacancy, the Council shall fill said office by a majority vote of all members. The Secretary-Treasurer shall, however, be subject to removal at any time by a majority vote of all the members of the Council.
Before entering upon his duties, the Secretary-Treasurer shall give a bond to the Borough, with a bonding company as surety, in the amount deemed adequate by the Council, conditioned for the faithful performance of his duties, the premium for said bond to be paid by the Borough of East Stroudsburg.
The Secretary-Treasurer shall receive such compensation as shall be fixed from time to time by Council.
The duties of the Secretary-Treasurer shall be as outlined in the Borough Code, Act No. 581 of February 1, 1966, and amendments thereto.[1]
