Editor's Note: This article was adopted and approved 8-17-1961 as part of Ord. No. C-1, which ordinance adopted the prior codification of the Borough of Lititz.
The Borough of Lititz, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, shall become a participant in the social security system, and the benefits of old age and survivors insurance shall be extended to its eligible full-time employees.
The Borough Treasurer is hereby authorized to make all required payments into the Contribution Fund established by Section 7 of Enabling Act. No. 491 of the 1951 session of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania[1] and to establish such system of payroll deductions from salaries of covered employees as may be necessary to their coverage under said old age and survivors insurance system.

Contributions to such Contribution Fund accruing for all periods of employment shall be paid 1/2 by the covered employees and 1/2 by the Borough of Lititz.
The Borough of Lititz does hereby appropriate from the proper fund or funds from which wage or salary payments of covered employees are issued to employees of the Borough of Lititz the amounts necessary to pay into the Contribution Fund as provided in Section 4 of the Enabling Act[1] and in accordance with this article and with the plan or plans and agreement.

The proper officials of the Borough of Lititz are hereby authorized and empowered to do all things in accordance with the provisions contained in the plan and agreement necessary to the continued implementation of said old age and survivors insurance system.
