A. 
The Middletown Township Planning Commission shall henceforth consist of seven members, at least five of whom shall be citizen members.
B. 
The Middletown Township Planning Commission shall be appointed, be subject to and have the powers and duties set forth in Article II of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, also known as Act 247, 53 P.S. § 10101 et seq., enacted and approved as a statute of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on July 31, 1968.

The Middletown Township Planning Commission shall have exclusive custody and control of the shade trees in the Township and is authorized to plant, remove, maintain and protect shade trees on the public streets and highways in the Township.
