No person shall, except in necessary defense of person or property, fire or discharge any gun or other firearm within the Borough of Ligonier.

Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof before the Magisterial District Judge, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $600 and costs of prosecution and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to imprisonment in the county jail for not more than 30 days.

The firing of weapons at Fort Ligonier during ceremonies and special occasions shall be exempt from the foregoing provisions, and the Fort Ligonier Memorial Foundation is requested to notify the Chief of Police at the beginning of each season of the dates on which the firing will take place.
