Housing code fees shall be as follows:
A. 
Residential rental certificate shall be required every time there is a change of tenant:

(1) 
For structures constructed during 1978 or more recently: $100.
(2) 
For structures constructed prior to 1978, the base fee shall be $100, and an additional $75 surcharge will be assessed for the lead-based paint inspection and certification in accordance with New Jersey's Lead Safe Certificate Law (P.L. 2021, c. 182).[1] Twenty dollars of this fee shall be deposited into the Lead Hazard Control Assistance Fund in accordance with the law.

B. 
Reinspection fee, if a third inspection is required: $50.
C. 
If a fourth reinspection fee is required, the initial inspection fee for residential is due.
D. 
There will be a fee of $20 for all returned checks.

A. 
An annual registration fee, on or before January 1, shall be in accordance with the following:
(1) 
Per unit for any rental facility: $100.
B. 
Change in tenancy during the certification period requires the issuance of a new certificate and fee of $100.
C. 
A reinspection fee of $25 per rental unit/ per inspection shall be assessed for any third reinspection conducted as a result of the previously cited violations which require correction by the owner during the certification period.
D. 
For a stand-alone lead-based paint inspection (not part of a rental certificate application) in accordance with the NJ Lead Safe Certificate Law (P.L. 2021, c. 182),[1] the fee for inspection and certification shall be $125. Twenty dollars of this fee shall be deposited into the Lead Hazard Control Assistance Fund in accordance with the law.
