Effective with the date of this article, the Borough Council
of the Borough of Towanda appoints the locally elected Tax Collector,
his/her predecessor or successor as the agent authorized to provide
and issue real estate tax certification upon request by the real estate
property owner or their authorized agent, and hereby authorizes said
Tax Collector to assess, collect and retain, as compensation for providing
said tax certification service, a fee of $5 per taxing year certified;
further, a fee is hereby established, to be collected and retained
by the above designated persons, for the issuance of a duplicate tax
bill or facsimile thereof; said fee shall be $5 for each document
issued.
Effective with the date of this article, the fee associated
with a deed registration as processed by the Towanda Borough office
shall be established as $5 per deed registered, said fee to be retained
by the Borough of Towanda to defray the expense of maintaining an
effective real estate registry system.
