The following regulations are made and established for the proper
use, operation and maintenance of the public dock located at the easterly
terminus of Bay Road.
A. These regulations shall apply to the public dock facilities in the
Township which shall be opened during the hours posted by the Township
Committee.
B. The Township Committee shall determine the season or period of each
year when the facilities shall be opened and closed.
C. No person shall do any of the following things at, upon or in the
immediate vicinity of the public dock or the pavilion:
(1) Dress or undress in a motor vehicle or use it as a place for sleeping;
(2) Discard any paper bottle, container, food, drink, garbage or other
refuse upon the public dock or in the pavilion or in the water adjacent
thereto;
(3) Litter, damage, destroy or disfigure any part of the dock or pavilion
or any public or private property thereon;
(4) Take or ride any bicycle, motorcycle, motorbike, moped or any such
similar vehicle on the pavilion or on the dock;
(5) Refuse or neglect to obey the orders and directions of any police
officer or other authorized persons the use of the dock and pavilion.
The dock and pavilion facilities operated by the Township shall
be used only by the residents and taxpayers in accordance with the
requirements provided.
The Township Committee may from time to time adopt rules and
regulations pertaining to the use and control of the dock and pavilion
facilities.
No person over the age of six years shall use the dock or pavilion
without first obtaining a beach badge in accordance with §§ 5-9A.3
and 5-9A.6. This badge shall at all times be in the possession of
any person using the public dock or pavilion facilities and shall
be displayed or exhibited upon request by any police officer or by
any authorized person.
The public dock will be open to fishing and crabbing during
the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., prevailing time. Any person who
refuses to cease fishing or crabbing on the dock during the hours
it is closed for such purposes, and after being requested to do so
by a police officer or other authorized official, shall be guilty
of a violation of this article.
Any person who refuses to leave the dock or pavilion when it
is closed, after being requested to do so by a police officer or other
authorized official, shall be guilty of a violation of this article.
Any person convicted of a violation of any provision of this article shall be subject to the penalty as provided in §
262-3 of Chapter
262, Parks and Recreation Areas, of the Code of the Township of Ocean.
