1. The owner or lessee of any building within the Borough limits shall
be penalized for false alarms made to the Quakertown Police Department.
2. There shall be no penalty for the first two false alarms in any calendar
year. All subsequent false alarms shall result in a penalty fee, as
established from time to time by resolution of Borough Council.

1. The owner of lessee of any building in the Borough shall be penalized
for false fire alarms made to the Quakertown Borough Fire Department
caused by faulty fire detection equipment or by the neglect of said
owner or lessee or by the agents or employees of said owner or lessee.
2. There shall be no penalty for the first two false alarms in any calendar
year. All subsequent false alarms shall result in a penalty fee, as
established from time to time by resolution of Borough Council.

The Manager is authorized to waive any penalty for false alarms
caused by severe weather conditions and local electric department
problems.

The penalties will be billed by the Borough and if unpaid after
30 days from the date thereof, may be collected by an action in assumpsit
or as provided by law for municipal claims.

For purposes of §§ 501 and 502, above, a false
alarm shall be defined as any alarm to which the Police Department
or Fire Department is alerted that is later determined to be faulty
in nature, or incorrectly called in by a resident, tenant or occupant
of the premises in question, or an alarm caused by a mechanical malfunction.
