[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the Township of Easttown 11-16-2009 by Ord. No. 392-09. Amendments noted where applicable.]
Easttown Township ("Township") hereby allows the Tredyffrin-Easttown School District ("school district"), through its Board of Directors, to assume hiring and oversight of school crossing guards.
The school district, by Board action dated October 26, 2009, has approved a resolution requesting authority to assume the hiring and oversight of school crossing guards.
School district assumption of hiring and oversight of school crossing guards shall be effective November 17, 2009.
The school district resolution, and the Township ordinance enacted and approved herein, incorporates the terms and conditions of the October 27, 2009, letter to Township Secretary Gene Williams from School District Business Manager/School Board Secretary Arthur J. McDonnell, attached hereto and incorporated by reference as Exhibit A.[1]

Police training and assistance of the school crossing guards while on duty shall be as provided by law or as may be agreed to by the Township and school district.
School crossing guards shall be authorized by the school district only in the management of traffic and pedestrians in and around areas identified by the Police Department and the School District Superintendent or his or her designees.
