The majority of the authorized members of a board, committee, commission, authority or other agency may not refuse to excuse an absence due to the legitimate illness of the member.
Upon the conclusion of the period of unexcused absence for six weeks or three consecutive meetings as set forth above, the board, committee, commission, authority or other agency shall notify the Township Manager and, if different, the appointing authority, in writing, of the occurrence and consequent vacancy determination. The appointing authority shall forthwith fill the office for the unexpired term in the manner prescribed by law.
