The Mayor and the Board of Aldermen shall appoint a Voluntary Fire Department consisting of a Fire Chief and as many other officers and firefighters as deemed necessary to provide adequate fire protection for the City. This Department shall be well organized under the direction of the Chief and they shall have regular meetings and drills in fire-fighting methods and shall have full charge of fighting all fires.

Under authority set forth in Sections 70.837 and 320.090, RSMo., which are on file in the City Clerk's office, the Seymour Fire Department is hereby authorized to respond and provide assistance as requested in any mutual-aid or emergency aid request.
