The name of the commission described in this division is the
Fredericksburg Clean and Green Commission.

The purpose and duties of the Fredericksburg Clean and Green
Commission are set forth as follows:
A.
Purpose. The purpose of the Clean and Green Commission is to advise
City Council and to work with the City of Fredericksburg and the community
to identify, promote, and enact clean, green, and environmentally
sustainable practices that foster a healthy and sustainable environment
for the City, its citizens, and future generations.
B.
Mission.
The Clean and Green Commission advocates for a clean, healthy, and
biodiverse urban environment, promotes a culture of sustainability
in the City of Fredericksburg, advises City Council, and works with
the City and community on projects, outreach, education, and innovation.

A.
Thirteen members of the Fredericksburg Clean and Green Commission
shall be appointed by the City Council, of whom nine shall be voting
members.
B.
Seven voting members shall be residents of Fredericksburg.

C.
One voting member shall be an arborist or a person with experience
in arboriculture.
D.
One voting member shall be a member of City Council.
E.
Three ex officio members shall be appointed by the City Manager with
a preference for one each from the public works department, the planning
and community development department, and the parks, recreation and
events department.

F.
One ex officio member shall be a member of the R-Board staff.
H.
The terms of office of the voting members shall be four years.
I.
Members of the Fredericksburg Clean and Green Commission shall serve
at the pleasure of the City Council.
