In accordance with the provisions of Section 315.140 and when signs or other appropriate devices, marks or lines upon the surface of the roadway are placed giving notice thereof, the following areas shall be designated crosswalks and it shall be unlawful for any driver of any vehicle to enter such crosswalk while a pedestrian is in such crosswalk.
