Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40:46-2.1,[1] there is hereby established in and for the Town of Belvidere the position of Deputy Town Clerk.

The Deputy Town Clerk shall perform such duties as may be assigned by the Town Clerk or, from time to time, by the Town Council. The said Deputy Town Clerk shall have all the powers and duties of the Town Clerk during such times and for such periods as the said Town Clerk shall be absent or in case of vacancy in the office of Town Clerk.
The term of office of the Deputy Town Clerk shall be for a period of one year, to commence on January 1 of the year in which the appointment is made, and the Deputy Town Clerk shall be subject to appointment annually by the Town Council on the corresponding day of each year thereafter.
The Deputy Town Clerk shall receive such compensation as shall be provided under An Ordinance Fixing the Salaries of Several Town Officers and Officials of the Town of Belvidere, County of Warren and State of New Jersey, as the same shall be amended or supplemented from time to time.[1]
