A. 
The Mayor and Council shall appoint and employ a qualified person as Tax Collector for a term of four years, pursuant to and otherwise in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:9-141 and 40A:9-142.
B. 
Tenure shall be provided to the Tax Collector pursuant to and otherwise in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:9-144 and 40A:9-145.
C. 
The Tax Collector shall receive a salary as provided by the Salary Ordinance of the Borough of Somerdale.[1]

D. 
The respective positions of Tax Collector, Collector of Utilities and Collector of Arrears of Taxes (pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-143) shall be hereby combined, as the Mayor and Council is satisfied that reasons of economy and efficiency dictate that these offices be held by the same person.
E. 
The Mayor and Council may appoint by resolution other clerical personnel, including a Deputy Tax Collector, as it shall deem necessary for the operation of the office, with compensation to be as provided by the Annual Salary Ordinance of the Borough of Somerdale.[2]
