It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a bicycle, skateboard,
roller skates, rollerblades, scooter, coaster, or similar device upon
the property of another without the owner's written consent.

No person shall use a skateboard, roller skates, rollerblades,
scooter, coaster, or similar device upon any parking lot leased or
owned by the City of Corunna or Downtown Development Authority without
the owner or lessee's permission.

No person shall use a skateboard, roller skates, rollerblades, scooter, coaster, or similar device within the Recreation/Conservation district other than in areas designated for said use as identified under §
54-4 (Making of, compliance with additional rules) of the Corunna City Code.

(a) No person, except a police officer engaged in the performance of
his or her duties, shall ride a bicycle, skateboard, roller skates,
rollerblades, scooter, coaster, or similar device upon any sidewalk
within a district defined under a specific traffic control order,
in a school zone, or on any other sidewalk or highway that is posted
with official traffic devices or signs prohibiting the riding of such
devices thereon. When any person is riding a bicycle, skateboard,
roller skates, rollerblades, scooter, coaster, or similar device upon
a sidewalk, such person shall yield the right-of-way to any pedestrians,
and if necessary, the person riding shall dismount and vacate the
sidewalk in order to prevent a collision, and any person riding upon
the sidewalk must have any of the above named devices under control
at all times.
(b) It shall be unlawful for any person riding a bicycle, skateboard,
roller skates, rollerblades, scooter, coaster, or similar device on
the sidewalk to attempt to pass another rider or person going in the
same direction on such sidewalk without giving an alarm by audible
signals a reasonable distance before overtaking, and/or passing such
pedestrian, and until it becomes evident that the person so warned
is aware of the approach of such person riding said bicycle.

Upon a request to the Corunna Police Department, and fulfillment
of any and all registration requirements, a license shall be issued
for a bicycle.

(a) Required; application. Registration shall be made by filing with
the police department the name and address of the bicycle owner together
with a complete description of the bicycle on forms provided by the
department, and paying a fee of $1. Applicants shall receive a free
copy of this article. Registrations will be kept and license tags
shall be valid for the life of the bike as long as it is owned by
the same person. Registration shall be serially numbered and kept
on file in the police department as a public record.
(b) Issuance. Upon such registration, the police department shall cause
an identification tag to be affixed to the registered bicycle, serially
numbered to correspond with the registration number in such a position
as to be plainly visible from the rear. Such tags shall remain affixed
to the bicycle unless removed by the department for cause or for retagging
upon re-registration. In case of theft or loss, a duplicate tag shall
be issued for a fee of $0.50.

No person shall willfully remove, deface or destroy any identification
tag. A tag shall not be transferred from one bicycle to another and
no person shall attach to any bicycle a tag not issued for the use
thereon.

In case of change of ownership of a bicycle, and upon proper
notification to the Corunna Police Department, the registration shall
thereupon be changed to show the name of the new owner. In case of
dismantling and taking out of operation, the registration shall be
cancelled and identification tag destroyed.

A person who violates this section is subject to the penalties prescribed in §
1-14 of this Code. In addition to any penalty prescribed in §
1-14, a police officer or other law enforcement agent may confiscate the skateboard, roller skates, rollerblades, coaster, scooter, or similar device and obtain the person's name, address, telephone number and age. Any above-named device confiscated under this section shall be returned to persons 18 years of age or older not earlier than 72 hours after the violation, upon the alleged violator meeting with the investigating officer or a designated command officer and executing a declaration of ownership. Any above-named device confiscated from those persons under the age of 18 shall be returned to the alleged violator's parent or guardian upon their appearance and meeting with the investigating officer or a designated command officer and executing a declaration of ownership.

No parent or guardian shall authorize or knowingly permit his
or her child, or ward, to violate any of the provisions of this chapter.
