A. 
The Mayor with the consent of the majority elected to the Board of Aldermen shall appoint a qualified person to the office of Chief of Police.
B. 
The Chief of Police shall possess all those qualifications required by the State of Missouri and St. Louis County for the position of Chief of Police.
C. 
The Chief of Police shall hold office for a term of one (1) year commencing July 1, 2016, and the first day of each succeeding year thereafter until his/her successor is appointed and qualified.
D. 
The office of Chief of Police shall be a full-time position, and the person holding the office shall receive compensation provided from time to time by the City. The Police Chief shall be entitled and eligible for all benefits available to full-time employees, including those for the Police Department of the City.
E. 
The Police Chief shall be the head of the Police Department, and all employees of the Department shall be subject to his/her directive and control in the performance of their police duties.
F. 
The Police Chief shall be responsible for enforcement of ordinances of the City of Woodson Terrace, and of all laws of the State of Missouri. In addition, the Chief shall have the duty to provide for the internal regulation and government of the Police Department of the City of Woodson Terrace, in accordance with Chapter 200 of this Code. The Chief shall be responsible for developing personnel guidelines and operating guidelines of the Police Department from time to time.
