The Town Board of the Town of Grand Island intends to expand
participation in the electoral process and to bring new ideas to the
governance of the Town of Grand Island. For that purpose, the Town
Board adopts this article to limit terms of office for certain elected
officials in the Town of Grand Island, pursuant to New York Municipal
Home Rule Law § 10(1)(ii)(a)(i).
Terms of office fully completed prior to the effective date
of this article shall not count against the maximum term limitations
established in this article.
