A. The Police Department is hereby authorized to remove or to have removed
any vehicle from the streets or other public places to a garage or
other place of safety or to a garage designated by the Police Department
whenever the operator of a vehicle is arrested or detained by a Law
Enforcement Officer and such arrest or detention would leave such
vehicle unattended or unlawful to drive.
B. Any vehicle so detained shall be held until the owner or his/her
authorized agent applies for same and pays the costs of removing and
storing said vehicle.
C. In addition to said tow-in and storage costs, before any such vehicle
is released, the person applying for same shall satisfy any outstanding
traffic tickets issued in connection with the operation of such vehicle,
including any ticket issued in connection with the towing, either
by payment to the Municipal Court or by posting bond for appearance
in Municipal Court.
