The City Council shall by resolution confirm the appointment of one part-time City Controller within the Administration Department, to be compensated within the authorization and appropriation of the annual City General Fund budget. Nothing shall require the City to fill this position if vacant.
The City Controller shall have the following duties:
A. 
To verify the proper issuance of payments duly authorized by the City of Pittston by serving as a signatory for checks, warrants, and electronic vouchers and all other fiscal payment documents as may be prescribed by the City Council.
B. 
To assist the City Administrator and City Treasurer in the review of property assessment records for properties within the City of Pittston.
C. 
To provide consultation and advice to the City Administrator and City Council on matters pertaining to best practices in fiscal management and internal controls and to assist and advise as requested in the review of City audits.
D. 
All other duties as may be prescribed by the City Council.
