No person shall detain or fail to return any book or material borrowed from the Free Public Library of the Borough of Roselle after 30 days has elapsed from date of posting by certified mail, return receipt requested, of a notice demanding the return thereof addressed to said person at the address furnished to the library.
No person shall cut, tear, deface, disfigure, damage or destroy any book or any other library material or any part thereof which is owned by or is in custody of the Free Public Library of the Borough of Roselle.
No person shall register or furnish a false name, address, or other contact information, or use any card other than the one issued to said person, for the purpose of borrowing any book or material from such library.
No minor will be issued a library card by the Free Public Library of the Borough of Roselle unless the application is signed by one of the parents or guardian, the signature indicating the parent or guardian will be responsible for books or any other library material borrowed by a minor as stated as if the parent or guardian were the borrower.
Any person or corporation who takes out library materials and holds same for a period of time in excess of the time specified shall pay at the rate established by the Library Board of Trustees for each day said material is retained thereafter, up to and including the original purchase price thereof. Said fine or fines imposed pursuant to this section shall be paid forthwith upon demand.
Any person violating any provisions of this chapter shall be subject to a fine not exceeding $100 or by 100 hours of community service, or both, for each violation.
