The City Administrator shall appoint a part-time, administrative Comptroller for the City of Pittston, subject to appropriation by the City Council within the annual approved budget. The Comptroller shall report to the City Administrator and be a part of the City Administration Department as set forth in Pittston City Code § 7-2. The Comptroller may be the City's consulting accountant under contract approved by resolution of the City Council.
The Comptroller shall assist the City Administrator, City Controller,
City Treasurer, and City Director of Operations with technical accounting
transactions, establishing best practices policies with regard to
accounting, and required monthly and annual reconciliation of all
City accounts, as well as all other appropriate financial administrative
duties assigned by the City Administrator.
