A. 
No person shall make any false statement, certificate, mark, rating or report with regard to any test, certification or appointment made under any provision of this chapter or in any manner commit or attempt to commit any fraud preventing the impartial execution of this chapter and policies.
B. 
No person shall, directly or indirectly, give, render, pay, offer, solicit, or accept any money, service, or other valuable consideration for any appointment, proposed appointment, promotion, or proposed promotion to, or any advantage in, a position with the Town.
C. 
No employee of the Town or other person shall defeat, deceive or obstruct any person in his right to examination, eligibility, certification; or appointment under this chapter, or furnish to any person any special or privileged information for the purpose of affecting the rights or prospects of any person with respect to employment with the Town.
D. 
No employee may engage in outside employment that reasonably could be expected to have an adverse effect on the employee's performance of official duties with the Town or be prejudicial to the reputation of the Town. Employees shall inform department heads of potential outside employment prior to acceptance and obtain prior approval before accepting the position.
E. 
Employees are prohibited from bringing their political affiliations to bear on their official duties. Specifically, the following political activities of employees are prohibited:
(1) 
Campaign fundraising, or other partisan political activities on Town premises and/or while in the performance of duties and responsibilities as an employee of the Town.
(2) 
Abuse or use of official position for political ends.
(3) 
Use of official working time or unauthorized use of Town resources for political activity.
(4) 
Promising any employment, position, work, compensation, or other benefits as consideration, favor or reward for political activity.
(5) 
Performing political activities at the direction of a supervisor, department head, or other Town official.
A. 
Any person who willfully violates any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $100.
B. 
Any person who is convicted of a misdemeanor under this chapter shall for a period of five years be ineligible for appointment to or employment in a position with the Town. Upon conviction, an officer or employee of the Town shall forfeit his office or position.
