A. 
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 135.040 of the Malden City Code, the Park and Recreation Board, may, at its discretion, designate certain areas within the municipal park system as a "walking trail." Any walking trail so designated shall be identified with a sign, signs, or other such marking(s) in a manner designed to reasonably notify persons thereon of the designation.
B. 
No person shall operate any vehicle, by whatever means propelled, on or within any area designated and identified by the Park and Recreation Board as a walking trail, including, but not limited to the following:
1. 
Any vehicle or device powered by combustion, electric, or hybrid motor designed to carry the operator or passenger except as specifically set forth below;
2. 
Bicycles, tricycles, or other such pedal-driven vehicles;
3. 
Roller skates, rollerblades, skateboards, scooters or like foot-propelled wheeled devices; and/ or
4. 
Carts, wagons, and/or buggies driven, propelled or pulled by animal power.
C. 
Nothing in this Section shall prohibit the following:
1. 
Use by any person of any manually operated or power-driven device designed primarily for use by an individual with a mobility disability for the main purpose of indoor, or of both indoor and outdoor, locomotion, including but not limited to wheelchairs and scooters;
2. 
Transportation of any person by means of stroller, wagon or other such device pulled or pushed by human power.
D. 
Any person violating Subsection (B) of this Section upon any walking trail designated pursuant to Subsection (A) of this Section shall be guilty of an ordinance violation punishable by fine as authorized by the Malden City Code.
