Whenever any words and phrases are used in this
chapter, the meanings respectively ascribed to them in Subtitle 1
of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey shall be deemed
to apply to such words and phrases used herein.

Unless another penalty is expressly provided
by New Jersey statute, every person convicted of a violation of a
provision of this chapter or any supplement thereto shall be liable
to a penalty of not more than $50 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding
15 days, or both.

All former traffic ordinances of the Township
of Brick are hereby repealed, except that this repeal shall not affect
or prevent the prosecution or punishment of any person for any act
done or committed in violation of any ordinance hereby repealed prior
to the taking effect of this chapter, and except that the adoption
of this chapter shall not affect any traffic regulation affecting
any county road in the Township of Brick established as of the effective
date of this chapter.
This chapter may be known and cited as the "Traffic
Ordinance."
