A Department of Public Safety is hereby created
in accordance with Section 1 of Chapter VI of the Town Charter.
[Amended 5-10-2005]
The Department created by this article shall
be headed by the Town Manager.
The Department created by this article shall
consist of a Police Department and a Fire Department.
The Town Manager shall appoint a Chief of Police
and a Fire Chief to head the Police and Fire Departments composing
the Department created by this article.
A Director of Civil Defense shall be appointed
by the Town Manager and, under his or her direction, shall perform
such duties as are provided for Directors of Civil Defense by the
Connecticut General Statutes.
