All curbing shall be first quality, of beaverboard or freeport stone or equal as quality, free from all defects whatsoever. No stone when dressed shall be less than four feet in length (except for closures) and two feet in depth. No stone shall be less in length on bottom than on top. All joints shall be full depth of the stone, truly squared so as to make close joints; they shall be smoothly dressed on top for the width of six inches, which width shall be uniform for all stone, three inches on the side next the footwalks and dressed 10 inches deep in front. No stone shall be less than six inches in thickness in any part. Cornerstone shall be cut to a radius of 10 feet, all to be set true to line and grade; before any curbstone is set, there shall be a trench excavated to a depth of three feet below grade line and 12 inches wide, in which shall be placed and jammed 12 inches deep of broken stone, then the curbstone set upon it. Any stone condemned by the Street Committee shall be immediately removed from the street.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine of not more than $600, plus costs of prosecution, and in default of payment of such fine and costs by imprisonment for not more than 30 days.
