The Board of Adjustment shall have the power to grant, to the same extent and subject to the same restrictions as the Planning Board, subdivision or site plan approval pursuant to the provisions of this chapter whenever the Board of Adjustment is reviewing an application for approval of a variance to allow a structure or use in a district restriction against such structure or use in particular cases and for special reasons pursuant to Section 57(d) of the Municipal Land Use Law,[1] in which event all plats, plans and other materials required to be submitted to the Planning Board pursuant to this chapter shall be submitted to the Board of Adjustment.
