The office of Sanitary Inspector of the Board of Health of the Borough of Hillsdale is hereby established.
The Board of Health shall annually appoint a duly qualified person to fill the office of Sanitary Inspector.
No person shall be deemed qualified to be appointed to the office of Sanitary Inspector or to continue in said office unless he or she shall be and remain the holder of license as Sanitary Inspector, first grade, issued by the State of New Jersey.
The term of the Sanitary Inspector shall commence on January 1 and terminate on December 31 of each year.

A. 
The duties of the Sanitary Inspector shall include the performance of such health and inspection services as he or she may by law be required to perform and such services not inconsistent with the license held by him or her and as may be assigned to him or her by the Board of Health, either directly or through its Health Officer acting as the general agent of the Board.
B. 
The Sanitary Inspector shall be deemed full-time or part-time at the discretion of the Board and shall be subject to the same personnel policies as are applicable to persons employed by the Borough of Hillsdale, which personnel policies are hereby, by this reference thereto, adopted for the purpose of this chapter.
The compensation of the Sanitary Inspector for the services performed in said office shall be in such amount and payable at such time or times as the Board shall prescribe and designate by ordinance.
