GENERAL REFERENCES
Administrative organization — See Ch. 4.
The Mayor, with the advice and consent of the
Borough Council, shall provide for the appointment of
a Tax Assessor and such Deputy Tax Assessors as he may determine necessary,
in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:9-146.
The provisions of any other law to the contrary
not withstanding, the Borough Tax Assessor shall be appointed pursuant
to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-146 and his or her term of office,
powers and duties shall be as provided in said Act.
A.
The Borough Tax Assessor shall hold a tax assessor
certificate provided for in P.L. 1967, c. 44 (N.J.S.A. 54:1-35.25
et seq.), and shall have the duty of assessing property for the purpose
of general taxation.
B.
The Deputy Tax Assessor shall hold a tax assessor
certificate and shall act under the direct supervision of and assist
the Borough Tax Assessor.
