[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Dobbs Ferry 11-15-1966 by L.L. No. 4-1966. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The Mayor and Board of Trustees may designate, authorize and appoint, whenever it is deemed necessary, a number of persons to act as school crossing guards at such salaries as shall be deemed advisable. [1]It shall be the duty of said school crossing guards to aid in protecting schoolchildren going to and from school, and for such purpose they shall have power to control vehicular traffic within the boundaries of the Village of Dobbs Ferry.

Editor's Note: This local law was enacted pursuant to § 208-a of the General Municipal Law.
All school crossing guards, while on duty, shall wear uniforms as prescribed by the Mayor and Board of Trustees. Said uniforms will be furnished to the school crossing guards by the Village and remain the property of the Village and are to be returned to it whenever the individual ceases to be a school crossing guard.
