[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Hamburg as indicated in article histories. Amendments noted where applicable.]
[Adopted 10-15-2007 by L.L. No. 5-2007]
The adoption of Megan's Law[1] has increased public awareness of sexual offenders by requiring them to register with authorities and making such information available to the public. The Village Board of the Village of Hamburg hereby enacts this article to prevent sex offenders from residing or living near areas where children regularly meet and congregate. The Village Board of the Village of Hamburg believes that this article is necessary to further protect the best interests of all children, and to protect the health, safety and welfare of residents in the Village of Hamburg.
