No person shall at any time discharge any firearms, air guns, spring guns or other instruments in which the propelling force is a spring or air, any gun or any instrument or weapon in or upon which any loaded or blank cartridge may be used, any fireworks or explosives within the corporate limits of the Village of Maybrook, New York, except as expressly provided and regulated. Nor shall anyone string and shoot any bow and arrow or load and shoot any slingshot within the corporate limits of the Village of Maybrook, New York, except as expressly provided and regulated.
No person shall carry any loaded pistol, rifle, shotgun or other firearms upon any public street or in any public place within the corporate limits of the Village of Maybrook, New York, except as authorized by law, and no person shall engage in the hunting of wild animals or game within the corporate limits of the Village of Maybrook, New York.

Violation of any provision of this article shall be punishable as provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article II, Penalties for Offenses.

Any paintball or paint pellet device (including but not limited to guns, pistols, rifles, shotguns, and grenades) which is designed or intended to carry, or to expel a projectile containing, paint, ink, or similar material which has the potential to cause injury to persons or property shall be recognized as a nuisance device and shall be subject to this article.
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
CARRY
To physically hold or have under exclusive or mutual control a firearm as defined herein.
DISCHARGE
The expulsion of a projectile from a firearm or the throwing of a grenade by manual or mechanical means.
FIREARM
Any device which is designed and intended to expel a projectile by action of gunpowder, any other explosive, compressed air, compressed gas or mechanical device, including but not limited to guns, pistols, rifles, shotguns, grenades, BB guns, paintball or paint pellet devices, and air rifles.
PAINTBALL OR PAINT PELLET DEVICE
A gun, pistol, rifle, shotgun, grenade or like devices in appearance or function, capable of and designed for discharging and propelling paint, ink or other similar material directly upon a targeted person or property, or enclosed within a pellet or pellet-like device, capsule or capsule-like device, that is intended to break upon impact with a targeted person or property.
No person within the limits of the Village shall, on any public property, including but not limited to public parks, public streets, public rights-of-way, playgrounds, open space, recreation facilities other than those set forth in § 95-7, or any other public facility:
A. 
Carry or be in possession of a paintball or paint pellet device, unless it is being transported unloaded to or from a permitted location in the Village for such devices and is accompanied during such transport by someone 21 years of age or older.
B. 
Discharge or cause to set off a paintball or paint pellet device.
The carrying and discharge of a paintball or paint pellet device may occur in or on a recreational facility designed and legally operated for the purpose of discharging paintball or paint pellet devices during the facility's hours of operation and subject to the rules of such facility.
The carrying and discharge of a paintball or paint pellet device shall be permitted on private property contingent upon having the permission of the owner of the property, and provided further that the use of the paintball or paint pellet device is limited to targets and areas on such private property and conducted in such a manner so as to protect by an appropriate barrier other persons and other private property from paint or other damage. In no event shall paintball or paint pellet devices be permitted to be discharged at animals, or aimed or discharged at other human beings not wearing adequate protective gear.
Violations of any provision of this article shall be punishable as provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article II, Penalties for Offenses.
