Editor's Note: This local law, which passed at referendum 11-8-1977, was originally designated as L.L. No. 2-1976 but was renumbered upon filing with the Secretary of State.
It shall be lawful for any authorized organization, upon obtaining a license as provided in Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law, to conduct games of chance within the Town of Saugerties, subject to the provisions of this chapter, Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law and the New York State Racing and Wagering Board.
The conduct of games of chance on Sunday is only permitted when it is specifically provided for in the license issued. No games of chance, however, shall be conducted on Easter Sunday, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur.
The Town Clerk of the Town of Saugerties shall exercise control over and supervision of all games of chance.
Pursuant to General Municipal Law § 190, subdivision 3, certain "repeat" authorized organizations may submit summary applications.
