This chapter shall be known as the "House Trailer Local Law."
It is the purpose of this chapter to promote the health, safety and general welfare of the inhabitants of the Village of Nyack by the more efficient regulation of house trailers.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
HOUSE TRAILER
Includes any vehicle used or capable of being used as sleeping or living quarters, mounted on wheels and includes an automobile trailer equipped with living quarters or sleeping facilities and a house car.
A. 
No house trailer shall be used or occupied within the limits of the Village of Nyack.
B. 
In the event of a fire or other catastrophe which causes a residence to become temporarily uninhabitable, the usual occupants of said residence may be permitted to occupy a house trailer on the same premises temporarily. Said permission shall be conditioned upon an application being made to the Board of Trustees of the Village of Nyack for such permission and the Board of Trustees granting said permission upon the recommendation of the Building Inspector for a specific period of time not to exceed six months.
A. 
Any person, firm or corporation who violates any provision of this chapter shall not be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a fine of not less than $10 nor more than $100 or to imprisonment for a period of not less than one day nor more than six months, or both such fine and imprisonment.
B. 
The application of the above penalty or penalties or the prosecution of the violation of the provisions of this chapter shall not be held to prevent the enforced removal of conditions prohibited by this chapter. When a violation of any of the provisions of this chapter is continuous, each 24 hours thereof shall constitute a separate and distinct violation.
