[Added 4-9-2002 STM, Art. 3; amended 5-22-2021 ATM by Art. 1]
The Town accept the renumbering and revision of the various
bylaws of the Town from their original numbering or their numbering
in the Town Bylaws to the numbering or codification, arrangement,
sequence and captions and the comprehensive revisions to the text
of the Town Bylaws — excluding the Zoning Bylaw — as
set forth in the Final Draft of the Code of the Town of Hopedale,
dated 2002, copies of which were available at Town Hall and on the
Town Web site (hopedalemass.com), said codification having been done
under the direction of the Bylaw Review Committee, Select Board, Town
Counsel and Town Coordinator, and said Code being a compilation and
comprehensive revision of the present bylaws of the Town, excluding
the Zoning Bylaws. All bylaws of a general and permanent nature, except
the Zoning Bylaw, as amended, heretofore in force and not included
in the Code shall be repealed except that such repeal shall not affect
any suit or proceeding pending as the result of an existing law, and
such repeal shall not apply to or affect any bylaw, order or article
heretofore adopted accepting or adopting the provisions of any statute
of the commonwealth. These bylaws shall be referred to as the "Code
of the Town of Hopedale, Massachusetts."
[Amended 4-9-2002 STM, Art. 3]
Whoever violates any provision of the Code of the Town of Hopedale,
whereby any act or thing is prohibited, shall, unless other provisions
are expressly made, forfeit and pay a fine not exceeding $300 for
each offense.
Prosecutions for the breach of any of the provisions of any
of this Code shall be commenced within one year from such breach.
