It is the intent and purpose of this article to establish eligibility and rates of compensation payable to off-duty police officers and to establish the percentage of deductions therefrom payable to the Township of Mantua.
The Chief of Police or officer in charge shall determine eligibility for off-duty assignments based on reasons of safety, efficiency and the reputation of the Department, subject to the following eligibility limitations:
A. 
Officers that are on leave, whether paid or unpaid, shall not be eligible for assignment;
B. 
The Chief of Police and Captain shall not be eligible for assignment; and

C. 
Officers working light-duty assignments or serving disciplinary suspensions shall not be eligible for assignment.
A. 
Rates for payment of police on off-duty assignments shall be, upon the effective date hereof, and until further modification by resolution authorizing the aforesaid, which when set by resolution or a resolution to amend this article shall be deducted and paid over to the Chief Financial Officer, a sum to defray the anticipated costs of workers' compensation premiums, insurance and clerical and administrative expenses associated with such off-duty assignments.
B. 
The Chief of Police or officer in charge shall determine if off-duty assignments shall require the use of a police motor vehicle and, if so determined, the Chief shall impose and charge a fee of $18 per hour or any part thereof for the use of said vehicle, with such fee payable to the Township Chief Financial Officer.

C. 
The rate for private contractor and private entities are: salary, $70 per hour; administrative fee, $10 per hour; vehicle fee, $18 per hour; total $98 per hour.

D. 
The rate for County Highway are: salary, $55 per hour; administrative fee, $5 per hour; total, $60 per hour.

The rate for security details for houses of worship is: $65 per hour; total, $65 per hour.
