The Board of Supervisors of the Township of West Bradford, Chester County, Pennsylvania, intends to establish a fire hydrant tax per the Second Class Township Code, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Section 1802(a)(1).[1]

The tax shall be an equal assessment upon real property within 780 feet of and benefiting from the service of a public fire hydrant. The assessment shall apply to all property, whether or not exempt from taxation by existing law. The assessment shall be based upon the annual costs of the provision, maintenance and operation of the fire hydrants within the Township. The fire hydrant fee shall be as set forth by resolution as adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the Township of West Bradford and collected as per West Bradford Township Resolution 97-03.
