Fees shall be charged for life hazard use inspection and for permits authorized by the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code on an annual basis, in accord with current New Jersey Fire Code schedules.
In addition to registrations required by the Uniform Fire Code, the following non-life hazard uses shall register with the Bureau of Fire Prevention. Such uses shall be inspected annually and assessed an annual fee. Fees shall be determined by square footage of building or business occupancy within structure.

Registration. Designated uses requiring registration with the state as life hazard use properties shall not be required to register under this section.

Fee exemption. Both life hazard and non-life hazard use properties not exempt from registration or inspection shall remain exempt from paying inspection fees pursuant to the Municipal Code, as cited.

A. 
Application fees for permits listed in N.J.A.C. 5:70-2.7 shall be as provided by state regulation.
B. 
The cost for issuance of a certificate of Fire Code status shall be $50.
C. 
Utilization of Fire Department apparatus for performance of standpipe flow test; fire watch; or any other special fire protection service shall require an assessed service fee to be determined by the Chief of the Fire Department.
A CSDCMAC (certificate of smoke detector and carbon monoxide alarm compliance) as required by N.J.A.C. 5:70-2.3 shall be based upon the amount of time remaining before change of occupancy is expected as cited.
A. 
Fire certificate fee.
(1) 
The fee for a request for a CSDCMAC received more than 10 business days prior to property settlement or change of occupant shall be $50.
(2) 
The fee for a request for a CSDCMAC received four to 10 business days prior to property settlement or change of occupant shall be $100.
(3) 
The fee for a request for a CSDCMAC received fewer than four business days prior to property settlement or change of occupant shall be $140.
B. 
Fire report fee.
(1) 
The fee for furnishing copies of fire investigation reports to insurance companies, property owners, or property occupants shall be $65.
(2) 
The fee for furnishing copies of fire incident reports to insurance companies, property owners, or property occupants shall be $8.
(3) 
The fee for servicing photo reproduction applications as fire incident evidence data to insurance companies, property owners, or property occupants shall be $60. Fee does not include cost of reproduction photo services.
C. 
Fire inspection fee.
(1) 
An inspection fee in an amount indicated by the fee schedule shall be assessed for inspections relating to smoke detector alarms and carbon monoxide alarms of structures used or intended for use for residential purpose by not more than two households pursuant to N.J.A.C. 5:70-2.3.
(2) 
Before any Use Group R-3 or R-4 structure is sold or leased or otherwise made subject to a change of occupancy for residential purpose, the owner shall obtain, from the enforcement agency a CSDCMAC evidencing compliance with N.J.A.C. 5:70-4.19.
(3) 
No certificate of inspection or occupancy or other approval under the municipal code shall be issued until it has been determined that dwellings comply with the requirements of N.J.A.C. 5:70-4.19. The owner or an authorized agent of the owner shall apply for a CSDCMAC on a form provided by the local enforcement agency. The CSDCMAC shall not be transferable. If the change of occupancy specified in the application for the CSDCMAC does not occur within six months, a new application shall be required.
(4) 
The enforcement agency may issue a CSDCMAC for seasonal rental units for a period up to 12 months, regardless of frequency in the number of changes in tenancy. No CSDCMAC shall be issued until an inspection of the property indicates compliance with N.J.A.C. 5:70-4.19, except as specified in Subsection C(5) below.
(5) 
The enforcement agency, unless otherwise required to inspect a structure under other municipal code, may accept, in lieu of inspection, certification that one or more smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms, as applicable, have been installed and tested in accordance with N.J.A.C. 5:70-4.19. Certification shall be upon forms provided by the enforcement agency.
(6) 
No CSDCMAC or municipal certificate of occupancy may be issued for any Use Group R-3 or R-4 structure, or unit therein, unless the structure or unit contains a carbon monoxide detector meeting the requirements of UL standard 2034; provided, however, that no carbon monoxide alarm shall be required in any building that does not contain any fuel-burning appliances and does not have an attached garage. An open parking structure as defined in the building subcode of the Uniform Construction Code shall not be deemed attached or adjoining garage space.
