As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
Any person engaging in the business of selling and distributing
ice, either wholesale or retail.
A separate license shall be required for each vehicle depot,
each station, each plant or place in which ice is stored and each
coin-operated ice vending device.
No person doing business in the City shall sell, exchange or
deliver or have in his custody or possession with intent to sell,
exchange or deliver:
A.
Any ice from polluted sources.
B.
Ice which, upon chemical or bacteriological examination, shows evidence
of contamination with organisms of the coliaerogenes group.
C.
Ice which is visibly polluted or soiled by dirt.
D.
Ice in or upon which there is any foreign matter.
E.
Ice which has been handled with dirty hands or implements.
F.
Ice which has been stored in an unsanitary manner.
No person shall transport or carry or cause to be transported
or carried any other commodity in the same rack or part of the vehicle
used for the sale of ice to the consuming public.

It shall be unlawful for any person, as defined in § 485-1, to engage in the activity identified and regulated by this chapter, without first having obtained a license therefor and paid the fee required for such license, both as provided in Chapter 485, Licenses and Business Regulations. Any person engaging in such activity who shall fail to comply with any provision of this chapter or of Chapter 485 shall be in violation of the provisions of this chapter.

A.
Unless otherwise provided in the chapter, penalties against persons violating the provisions of this chapter shall be imposed in accordance with the provisions of § 1-15.

B.
A separate offense shall be deemed committed on each and every day
for each and every violation of this chapter.
C.
A separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or
on which a violation or violations occur or continue.
