The African-American Heritage Advisory Board shall consist of seven members appointed by a majority vote of the governing body.
The members shall be residents of the City of Camden.

The terms of the Board members shall be three years from the date of their appointment and until their successors are appointed and qualified except that the first appointments hereunder, two members shall be appointed for a one-year term, two members shall be appointed for two-year terms, and three members shall be appointed for three-year terms.
The Board shall meet periodically and in conformity with the Open Public Meetings Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-1 et seq., and shall report to the governing body.
There is no provision made for the hiring or employment of officers or employees. This body shall function in an advisory capacity, making recommendations as to legislation and policy for the betterment of the African-American community.
