The Asian-American Advisory Commission shall consist of seven members appointed by a majority vote of the governing body.

A member shall be either a resident of the City of Camden or an owner of a business located and operated within the City of Camden. Notwithstanding the provisions contained in this section, one member, who may be either a resident or nonresident of the City of Camden, shall be an employee of the City.
The terms of the members shall be for three years, and the initial terms and the provisions for vacancies shall be determined as outlined in the bylaws as adopted by the Commission.
The Commission shall meet periodically and in conformity with the Open Public Meetings Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-1 et seq., and shall report to the governing body.
There is no provision made for the hiring or employment of officers and employees. This body shall function in an advisory capacity, making recommendations as to legislation and policy for the betterment of the Asian-American community.
